NEW POST: Possible Source Contribution for Widcomm Bluetooth

I'm working on a managed interop assembly for the Widcomm bluetooth apis in C++/CLI and am interested in contributing to the bluetooth portion of the C4Fdevkit. Is this something that is encouraged? So far I've only ported the discovery, bonding and FTP portions and created a few test projects that interact with the low-level interop assembly directly, but I would like to unify both bluetooth stacks under the C4F bluetooth api and get it out there for others to use.

Also, the license tab is pretty vague. If I use some of the developer kit in a commercial project, would I have to release the source for the entire thing (like with GPL), just the portion of the app that uses it (like with LGPL) or merely provide credit (like with BSD)?

CREATED ISSUE: later version already installed

after a failed install of the dash board i keep getting the error
" later version of ${var.productshortname} is already installed "
whenever i try to reinstall it. The normal repair and uninstall options dont show up it just starts as though it is a new installation.

Im guessing its something in the registry that needs changing (unless theres anyother way anybody knows) does anyone know what the coding4fun shows up as in the registry ?

COMMENTED ISSUE: Uninstall fails on beta version

Those people (including me) who had issues installing the beta version are also having trouble uninstalling it. The new version cannot be installed until the beta is uninstalled. More details were already posted under the closed install issue tracker discussion. Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

open command prompt change to the directory where the c4fdevkit.msi is installed and type in "start C4FDevKit.msi" if that doesnt right click the command prompt and run it as adminstrator

I just downloaded the DevKit and was browsing through some of the dashboard eaxamples and found that when the screen saver is ran with 2 monitors, only the main monitor displays the feeds and responds to mouse movements.

Hi,

I started playing around with the C4F samples, mainly with Telephony API. Everthing worked seamless except the playback-recording stuff

I couldn't put to work a simple .wav playback so I just went to try the "Telephony Application" sample provided with the library. It also didn't work

I tried with a simple file that I recorded and later with the windows startup sound. On a Vista machine and after on a different PC with XP SP2 and different modem...

I'm calling the PC line, answering, and then browse the sound file, select it, and hit "Play".

It seems that it is really a bug of the library...

Someone experienced the same or found a workaround?

When will there be support in C# and Visual Studio 2008 for both PC and Mobile devices to communicate with Bluetooth devices? I am in the process of using the Code4Fun Bluetooth DLLs, but this seems to be only for learning the topic and not for distributing it in commercial applications.

I tried doing start c4fdevkit.msi, I don't have much experience with command prompt, but it brought up the installation window and told me that it still had a problem installing and it was not able to uninstall it, am i doing anything wrong here?

Thanks! That did the trick, re-installing the beta version via cmd line then performing the uninstall worked.

Currently the source code for the Dashboard application isn't available. Mainly that's due to the fact that its only Visual C# right now. We do plan in the near future to release it.

Everyone who had problems installing the beta is having a problem uninstalling it also, making it impossible to install the released version. Does anyone know how to work around this? Great job on beta code that doesn't install on VISTA. Sweet. Errors out as the command window comes up (says it's installing on the .NET 2.0 framework). Do you see the problem folks?
