Unfortunately, DinnerNow.net 2.5 isn't supported on Windows 7 yet. The algorithm that DinnerNow uses to determine whether PowerShell is installed doesn't work on Windows 7.

Good morning,

I'm using the Windows 7 Release Candidate Build 7100.
And I'am trying to install DinnerNow, but when I execute starthere.bat, PowerShell isn't detected.
I check in Windows Folder and PowerShell directory exists.

Help me, please.

DinnerNow.net Sample Application

What is DinnerNow.net?

DinnerNow is a fictitious marketplace where customers can order food from local restaurants for delivery to their home or office. This sample application is designed to demonstrate how you can develop a connected application using several new Microsoft technologies, including: IIS7, ASP.NET Ajax Extensions, Linq, Windows Communication Foundation, Windows Workflow Foundation, Windows Presentation Foundation, Windows Powershell, and the .NET Compact Framework.

The entire source code for the DinnerNow.net sample application is provided as a download so you can learn how these technologies can be used within an scenario-based application.

In my project Order.svc does not work. The <font size="2">

</font>

@ ServiceHost Language="C#" Debug="true" Service="DinnerNow.Services.OrderService %> was missing the closing quotations in the Service.

After fixing that, I find that the endpoint is not defined at all in the ServiceHost web.config

Does someone have the correct web.config code for this???

Yes, I finally figured out what was wrong. It turns out that the latest updates change the build number from 6001 to 6002. In the config file for the DC1 app there is section for setting the dependancies. Go into that file and change the build number from 6001 to 6002 and then it will work fine. If you are using SQL server rather than SQLExpress you will also have issues and changed that need to be made to various config and code files.

OK, this may be a little out of time , but i've got a solution for myself if anyone cares about it go ahead and read!

I searched for the 'Shell32.ShellClass' but I was not able to find some usefull informagtion so I figure out an other way to run the ShellExecute .

Go to the files:
C:\DinnerNow25\common\DC1\DCControls\DependencyViewControl.cs : Line: 118 -> shell.ShellExecute(.....
C:\DinnerNow25\common\DC1\DC1\DC1Gui.cs : Line: 189 -> shell.ShellExecute(.....

Comment both sell.ShellExecute(... and place the below code insteed:

For DependencyViewControl.cs:

Process proc = new Process ( );
proc.StartInfo.WorkingDirectory = System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(pathToNextScript);
proc.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = true;
proc.StartInfo.FileName = pathToNextScript;
proc.StartInfo.Arguments = "";
proc.Start();

For DC1Gui.cs:

Process proc = new Process ( );
proc.StartInfo.WorkingDirectory = workingdir;
proc.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = true;
proc.StartInfo.FileName = pathToNextScript;
proc.StartInfo.Arguments = workingdir;
proc.Start();

Dont forget to include System.Diagnostics at the top of the files.

That did worked form me but my XP SP3 missing IIS7 and the Checklist is full of errors!

I'm trying to sign in and open the Cart page from a remote system, but the pages no not display. If I try it from the server itself, I don't have any issues. Both the web server and the machine I'm trying from are running windows 2008. Any ideas? Any permissions I may be missing to access additional pages?

I'm having problems getting this installed on Windows 7. It tells me I need Windows PowerShell. The Microsoft web site says this is built into Windows 7 and I can't install it from the Microsoft Download. Is there any way around this?
