I am trying to use the Sitemap Generator and had a couple questions:

1. What is the proper syntax for the Sitemap Path? I have tried '~/sitemap.xml' and just ~sitemap.xml (no single quotes). The problem is, that with either syntax I don't see my sitemap.xml file being updated.

2. What triggers the sitemap.xml to be updated?

When you author a post that has a published date set in the future, the sitemap.xml includes the post ignoring the published date.

Sitemap currently regenerates when a post is added (or deleted?)

It would be good if it could also be regenerated when categories are added/deleted/renamed too? Unless I've missed something, this doesn't currently happen?

Also helpful would be if the sitemap could be regenerated when the Rebuild Pages command is run.

It regenerates whenever you update a post or add/update a category but doesn't regenerate when you rebuild your pages. Of course, I haven't updated all cases but it's supposed to work as this regarding the Graffiti APIs.

When using uncategorised posts to put content in the homepage (and nowhere else) it's not really helpful to have the sitemap listing the URLs for anything in /uncategorised

CLOSED ISSUE: RSS Extender Issue with GCMS v1.0.1

So I just upgraded my site from 1.0 to 1.0.1, and had only a few minor problems.

If you have the GraffitiExtras RSS extender plugin enabled prior to upgrade, GCMS seems to not load due to the below exception:

Something went wrong. Reason: Operation could destabilize the runtime. Stack: at GraffitiExtras.Plugins.RssExtender.RssExtender.Init(GraffitiApplication ga)

at Graffiti.Core.Events.Instance()

at Graffiti.Core.ObjectStore.BeforeValidate()

at DataBuddy.BaseDataObject.Save(String username, DateTime modifiedTime)

at DataBuddy.BaseDataObject.Save()

at Graffiti.Core.FeedManager.ᐁ(Feed , Boolean )

at Graffiti.Core.FeedManager.UpdateFeedData()

at ASP.global_asax.PeriodicTasks(Object state)

You can remove the GraffitiExtras.dll and the site will compile. You can also keep the graffitiExtras.dll, but in order to disable the RSS extender you have to modify/remove the row in the graffiti_objectstore table so the plugin is not enabled.
