This Basic Edition of the HTML Editor for ASP.NET AJAX is designed specifically for ASP.NET AJAX. The editor outputs XHTML, constrains tags and attributes to those allowed, is extensible and configurable, and is contained in a single assembly.

Hi ,
we are using Winthusiasum HTML editor (Free version) in our site. One of our client is using Safari and is not able to use the same (for putting the comments).

Can anyone reply . It is a live site.

Hi we are using this in our website.
One of our customer who is using safari is not able to save data.

Technically we can see that on post back the user data in HTML editor is not getting posted, Can anyone help me.
It is urgent

First of all, great job on the control, very nice. Now to my question, How can the toolbar's and the button's within the toolbar's backcolor be changed? I have found properties to change the backcolor of all other aspects of the control but I cannot change the backcolor of these items? I need to change the entire colorscheme to something other than the default and visualstudio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I put the editor into a ModalPopupExtender it's impossible to edit the content, both in design mode and html mode. This is issue appears only with Firefox 3 and not with IE 7.

I'm using IE and opening a modal dialog to a page that contains the HtmlEditor using the window.showModalDialog. The control loads fine but the design mode is not editable even if I set the DesignModeEditable="true". I can open the same page in a browser window using the window.open and the design mode is editable.
Any Ideas? Is there a client-side call that I can use to force the desgin mode to be editable?

I've also experienced the same issue using the ModalPopupExtender and Firefox 3. On IE 7 everything seems to work fine.

Per the GNU Lesser General Public License I ask for access to the 2.3.2 HTML Editor Source Code. Recall under section 4(d) you must do one of the following:

0) Convey the Minimal Corresponding Source under the terms of this
License, and the Corresponding Application Code in a form
suitable for, and under terms that permit, the user to
recombine or relink the Application with a modified version of
the Linked Version to produce a modified Combined Work, in the
manner specified by section 6 of the GNU GPL for conveying
Corresponding Source.

1) Use a suitable shared library mechanism for linking with the
Library. A suitable mechanism is one that (a) uses at run time
a copy of the Library already present on the user's computer
system, and (b) will operate properly with a modified version
of the Library that is interface-compatible with the Linked
Version.

I tried to host it on godaddy. It throws up like below:

You need to use the Visual Studio 2005 version/download. Godaddy only supports the ASP.NET AJAX version for .NET v2.0.

I find the demo page implementation awkward and non-standard. For the page controls that perform postback...pretty much all those on the right hand side, a long querystring is created and then a redirect to the existing page is performed. It seems to be a work-around to a design issue. The issue is that all the rendering preparation is done before Render is called. Or, more importantly, before view state is updated. As a result, something as simple as changing the color scheme when you click one of the color scheme radio buttons is "off by one." The first time you click a new scheme, the existing scheme is used. The second time, the scheme intended on the first click is used, and so forth.

Suggestions:

- Google on the subject of AJAX controls in this special environment. See if there are known issues.
- Write a simple AJAX enabled page with standard update panel behavior, like the basic tutorials. Do not include the editor until the page is working perfectly with AJAX postback behavior in a simple scenario.

I have looked at the client API, there are setmode (???) and getmode()???, but what about Set visibility in js?

There is no such method in the Client-Side API. However, JavaScript includes methods to set the visibility of any DOM element. A great book on JavaScript is JavaScript, the Definitive Guide by David Flanagan. And again, the book ASP.NET AJAX in Action is a terrific book to understand how to find a client-side AJAX object and manipulate it.
