Project Description
Local Events is an open source application which consolidates local events from Upcoming.org, Eventful.com, Zvents.com and make them searchable by location. Created on ASP.NET 3.5, AJAX, Workflow, LINQ, Server side Threading, Caching to demostrate client side performence of a Web 2.0 website that works with heavyweight data.
Few enhancements can be done which includes: one might want to implement is integrating a Virtual Earth or Google Maps to pin point the events on the map and it’s very easy because longitude and latitude information is available for each event passed to the client side which is left for you to implement.
