I have a question just out of curiosity; When did development on MsSQLSpatial really start? And how many downloads have been made so far?

I love this spatial extension and am testing it with mapserver! Works like a charm so far, but I would like to do some stress testing too.

MsSqlSpatial development started on late July 2006 but based on older work from NetTopologySuite and SharpMap projects.

I'm glad you're using it with MapServer. Please, share you're tips. Some people have had trouble trying it. See:

Version 0.1.1 (Feb 2007) records 1213 downloads to date. I think a new release will be out after I resolve an issue with shapefile encoding.
