I think until now, it only work for sql2005.
let us look forward to it working for mostl database such as oracle,sybase,DB2.

Program stops working soon after Compare button clicked. Both connection tests run successfully.
OS: Windows Vista Business SP1
SQL Server: 2005 Express SP2

Hi,

I ran your tool and it appears that it didn't pick up a stored procedure difference between my two schema's. Is there a plan to add this feature in?

Great tool. One question however. Are the Alter Script Generation functions working? No matter what the differences are, when we generate the scripts either way we get the same script code which has something to do with fn_diagramobjects. Stuff like this

SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO

SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO

CREATE FUNCTION dbo.fn_diagramobjects()

yeah, there is some bugs with store procedures...
But now I working in a new release, with a lot of bugs fixed and new custom options...

Great Jobs!
It helps me a lot. Thanks.
But I encounter some bugs.
1. Some times, in the generated code, go and the end is togher, so it is like "endgo". I think it's because in the code create the stored procedure, there is no enter after the "end"
2. Some times the changes of the stored procedure are not detected. The generated code doesn't make the changes.

In this release, I fix a problem with the FK constraints and also some minor errors.

Hi Darkvader, thanks for test the application. I really want to support all errors.

Open DBDiff is in beta, for that reason, there still a lot of bugs...
But, I upload today a new release. I don't think that will be fix your error, but if you download this new version and send to me the error description, I will try to fix your error.

Hi,

First thanks for making this much needed Open Source application to compare database.

Unfortunately I had not been able to use it :-(, I'm having problems connecting to my databases, I'm sure the connection info I type in on source and target is correct and I get a "Test successful" message when I press the "Test Connection" button.

The problem is that when I press Compare I get "Invalid database connection. Please check the database connection" message.

I had try Windows Authentication and SQL Server Authentication with the same results.

I can connect fine to the databases using SQL Server Enterprise Manager.

Project Description
Open DBDiff is a open source database schema comparison tool for SQL Server 2005. It reports any differences between two database schemas and provides a sincronized script to upgrade a database from one to the other.

Open DBDiff can sincronize
* Tables (including Table Options like vardecimal, text in row, etc..)
* Columns (including Computed Columns, XML options, Identitys, etc..)
* Constraints
* Indexes
* Data Types
* Triggers (incluiding DDL Triggers)
* Assemblys
* Synonyms
* XML Schemas
* Schemas
* FileGroups
* Views
* Store Procedures

I didn't found any tool like this 100% open source for SQL Server. It's not depend from any privative tool or componet. Scripting without DMO.
We test this tools with almost 60 diferents testing use case.

We are working know to add SQL Server 2000 and MySQL 5.x in the proyect.
