Components Development Information

These Information here is pre-release and subject to change. the Target is give developers more information to work with.
If you need some help on an component described here, please post it in an forum.

Component List

unlinked Item Store : Manages all items (group, host, connection, credential,...) with serch functions and events
unlinked StorageManagement : Interface, structure how to implement file stores to get items into the Item Store. Part of the Plugin Structure
unlinked CoreItem UI Bindings : Classes for binding the CoreItems to UI and how to keep the ui Updated.
unlinked User Settings : Simple extension of user settings and how to use the class.

Development Information Guidance

If you develop an new Component, that should be used otherwards, please add it in this page, so others know how to use it.

When you start with an component, add it in the component list unlinked with an small description.
after you think someone else can start using it, link the name to an new wiki page and fill it with information how to use it.
in the Component page please track also an small changelog when you changed bigger parts or have API incompatibilities with older versions.
highly link to other pages (like in an Furter Info section)

Connection Plugin Information

General

Connection plugins allows to add other connection protocols to servers than the internal ones (currently only Microsoft Remote Desktop)

The main things you have to implement are

Connection Plugin Class: the main plugin class that controls the behaviour of the plugin
Connection Control: the main connection window where the user connects to the server
Dashboard Control: the Dashboard to get general Information of the Server (this is pre release and will be changed)
Configuration Control: The control to change the configuration of the current connection. this is done to optimize the usability of connection configuration
Connection Settings Class: The settings class that is stored with the Connection item and loaded again. saves all information of the configuration.

Other extensions

these are not required to implement, but can extend your plugin to enhance the usability

QuickAddValues: if the program can find an class that has this Attribute assigned, this is used for listing the values that should be asked the user for if he adds this connection.

The Plugin Structure will not be Accessable till Beta2 of the Product
The Information here is Pre-Release and Subject to Change

General Information About Plugin Development

We think that it is really Important to have the possibility that everyone can add features to RoyalTS therefore we decided to implement an Plugin Structure.

Due to we want to release the first version as fast as we can provide the time for it, this will be partly implemented, but not accessable for public.

Types of Extensions than can be Imported into RoyalTS

* Connection / Protocol*: Plugin For an Main protocol. like RDP, Putty, VNC...
ActionPak: A List of Actions to be imported. basically an XML file.
Storage: An Storage Adapter for CoreItem's (for example to store them in an database instead of an XML File
There are more... but i forgotten^^

gosh. its done. its working. need some tweaking due to the resizing, and so on. but the connections are basically working. fixed small issues with disposing objects. need some memory tweaking.

added many many lines. added the plugin, added the dynamic ui component for the connection, added the management of the connection items, added an guid for core items, added management of the connections. however, did'nt implemented the click events. but we are really near to it...

great done! rearranging (moving) works. and its so damn fast. so cool. also added the automatic actualisation of child items.

yeah man, got it fixed now. drag&drop now works with mouse (left-> move; right-> copy) options limitation is implemented. (needs flag fix)

added core item limitations for dragging. this thing gets relly cool. wanna try it out? build it, run it, add items (open file or quick add) and then drag nodes...
