Project Description
Welcome to the SQL 2005 Service Manager project. SQL 2005 Service Manager is a replacement for the SQL Server Service Manager that came with SQL Server 2000 but is no longer shipped as part of SQL Server. It allows the management and monitoring of all local SQL Server related services from a convenient system tray application for all editions of SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008. Please note that there is a Vista specific release as well as the standard XP/Win2003/Win2008 release. There are no differences in functionality, the Vista release has just been modified to accomodate the UAC (User Account Control) feature.

Added SQL 2008 RC0 compatability and filtered SQL Agent service for SQL 2008 Express Edition from managed services
This release is for Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Windows 2008. There is a separate release for Windows Vista. To install simply unzip the downloaded zip file for the Install Package and double click on SQL2005 Service Manager Setup.msi

Added fix for localisation issue with SQLServiceManager service
This release is specifically for Windows Vista. There is a separate release for Windows XP/Windows 2003/Windows 2008. Please read the install instructions in the download zip file

COMMENTED ISSUE: causes SysInternals' Process Monitor to not refresh on Windows XP x64

I run both SQL 2005 Service Manager and SysInternals' Process Monitor on x86 workstation, no problem. But on x64 platform (Windows XP) Process Monitor ceases to function when SQL 2005 Service Manager is run...its windows no longer refresh. As soon as SQL 2005 Service Manager is terminated, Process Monitor again begins to work. Very repeatable. This is on a relatively new/clean install with no observed problems.

I have not noticed any other apps suffer when SQL 2005 Service Manager runs, nor have I found any other apps that cause Process Monitor to have this problem.

Apologies for the delay, I've finally got a x64 VM running XP up and running and am unable to reproduce this issue. I am using Process Monitor 1.26.0.0 and don't seem to have any issues whether SQL 2005 Service Manager is running or not. I also tried Process Explorer 10.5.0.0 and no issues with that either. Are you able to provide any more details about the issue?
