Whats new with Terminals?

May 11, 2006 - Version 1.6l - Bugs, Multi-Monitor support
This release brings the bug down to under 30 outstanding issues in total. I also added the ability to detach a terminal window on its own. Very useful when you need more than one window active at any give time, multi-monitor support.

May 10, 2006 - Keep this project alive, Donate!

May 5, 2006 - Version 1.6k - More AD, Packet Capture
This release brings a UI dialog and Favorites Import tool for Active Directory Scanning. The second major feature is the integration with WinPcap. This feature allows you to capture network packets on any given Network device. This includes filtering based on the standard tcpdump rules and capturing directly to a file (c:\Terminals.dump). Read More Here

April 30, 2008 - Version 1.6j has been release which includes a number of bug fix's and Active Directory support. Download now

April 30, 2008 - VOTE: Connect to Console Bug : Microsoft decided to not carry forward support connecting to console sessions in the newer versions of the RDP protocol. This effects Windows Server 2008, Vista SP1 and XP SP3 users. Go Rate/Validate now!
(May 11, 2008)

# vncsharp needed the /unsafe bit turned on for release mode
## updated program.cs for the upcoming 1.6l release
# Properly disposed of the about form
# I disabled the messagebox in the RDP specific connection when it failed. It caused terminals to crash completely when the terminal was opened in a new window.
# You can re-attach the popup window to the main form by right-clicking the tab bar at the top and choosing the menu item.
# Terminals now supports mulitple windows. Popout a terminal connection into a new window by using the View, Open new window menu item. Or, in the new favorites list on the left, right click, Connect to ..., new window, or even Console, New window.
# The new window is a bare bones window, with no toolbars at all. You can double click the tab control along the top to switch to/from full screen. Closing the tab will close the window as well.
# Exiting terminals will force all popup windows to close as well.
# No confirmation on child windows so far. I will be adding those bells and whistles later.
# tabs moving!
# re-ordering of tabs is now possible. just click and drag the tabs and it should re-order. i need to do a bit of polish but it works!
# Added a bunch of tooltips to the Extended settings for the RDP protocol tab, as per request
## http://www.codeplex.com/Terminals/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=16273
# some cleanup of the code for rebooting remotely
## got rid of the shell execute to shutdown and moved to WMI to reboot/shutdown
## better handling when reboot/shutdown error conditions
# Added "reboot", "shutdown", "Enable RDP" to the context menu in the left hand favs list
# Packet Capture UI now has a Header tab to display the header data as well
# Added "Connect to Console" to the context menu for the left favorites menu.
# Double clicking a favorite will open the favorite directly.
## Double clicking the tag node will expand it normally and not connect to all.
# properties in the left context menu should be hidden when right clicking on a tag.
# removed the tags/favorites from the left bar, and just have the new FavsList control which represents both tags and favorites in a single tree
# Promiscuous mode for the Packet Capture network tool.
# I'm considering getting rid of the Tags/Favorites lists from the left bar...and just have a Tags/Favorites grouped (one level hiearchary) list view instead.
# Data binding issue on the Select all/Select none in the AD import tool.
# Added a new option under tools to rebuild the tags index. Fixed a bug in the New Terminal form. In the Tags tab, the bottom list of tags only showed all tags when editing, not on new.
# Select All/Select none buttons on the Active directory import tool
# All connections in the UI are now sorted. To control which property they are sorted by go to tools, options, more tab.
# fixed the favorites (left bar) to networking tools linkage. for some reason i was parsing the text of the node off of the left bar's tree instead of using the favorite.servername setting.
# forced the groups menu item visibilty to be set during form load...from the settings of course.
# hard coded a link to the computer management mmc. i use this tool daily/hourly so i hard coded a link to it for easy access.
CREATED RELEASE: Terminals 1.6l Release - Bugs, Multi-Monitor... Popout a terminal connection into a new window by using the View, Open new window menu item. Or, in the new favorites list on the left, right click, Connect to ..., new window, or even Console, New window.
The new window is a bare bones window, with no toolbars at all. You can double click the tab control along the top to switch to/from full screen. Closing the tab will close the window as well.
Exiting terminals will force all popup windows to close as well.
No confirmation on child windows so far.
I searched all the documentation I could find about this app, but I can't find a reference to which operating systems are supported. Can I, for instance, connect between Vista Home Premium machines or Linux/Mac machines (less important)? This is for a large home set up, rather than corporate, but we still need to have access to any computer from any place in the house.

All info will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
Matt.
