No, you should continue to exclude the main.prg from the DLL. This allows you to make ongoing changes to your code without recompiling the DLL. I haven't tried it, but I don't believe the existing design will support multiple applications from the same DLL. HTH, Dan

Announcement: We'll probably be breaking these projects out into separate projects(i.e. instead of VFPy, just ActiveVFP, MTmyVFP, and VFPWebSpider). It seems to make logical sense as well as giving an opportunity to change the licensing to BSD style Open Source instead of the more restrictive GPL. Comments welcome.

You all are indeed correct that the GPL license is too limiting. The reason I went with it was that the developer of a foxpro full-text application needed a license that would ensure all improvements went into the original code... I want to encourage commercial use, so BSD is probably the way to go. GPL is a good way to make sure enhancements stay with the product, but, at the cost of commercial use. DotNetNuke probably has the license I'm looking for - they use the BSD. Here's a relevent excerpt from "Professional DotNetNuke": "The GPL (or GNU Public License) was created in 1989 by Richard Stallman, founder of the Free Software Foundation. The GPL is what is now known as a "copyleft" license, a term coined based on its controversial reciprocity clause. Essentially this clause stipulates that you are allowed to use the software on condition that any derivative works that you create from it and distribute must be licensed to all under the same license. This is intended to ensure that the software and any enhancements to it remain in the public domain for everyone to share. While this is a great humanitarian goal, it seriously restricts the use of the software in a commercial environment. The BSD (or Berkeley Software Distribution) was created by the University of California and was designed to permit the free use, modification, and distribution of software without any return obligation whatsoever on the part of the community. The BSD is essentially a "copyright" license, meaning that you are free to use the software on condition that you retain the copyright notice in all copies or derivative works. The BSD is also known as an "academic" license because it provides the highest degree of intellectual property sharing."

I probably should have done more research into GPL licensing, at least for ActiveVFP. GPL turns out to be a little too restrictive for commercial purposes, while the intent of ActiveVFP is too encourage commercial use of the product. My original idea was to make sure improvements to ActiveVFP made by community members were made available to the whole community and not made into a new proprietary commercial web enabling product. However, the GPL license seemingly affects all applications made with ActiveVFP. Therefore, I'm seriously contemplating a change to BSD licensing to address these issues, at least with ActiveVFP. Thoughts???
