The Zider Engine is a hybrid 2D/3D platformer/Top down game engine.

Still plugging away on the various projects surrounding the Zider engine. The engine is intended to be a showcase of my various projects fully realized in the form of a game engine. Progress has been a bit slow as of late but now that I am back from mushroom picking I can continue working on them.

I have updated my website at http://www.createdbyx.com/ and have gotten a bunch done on my various xna programming projects and I am almost to a point where I can start to refocus on this project again. I just have some things I want to get done first. Mainly finish writing a few more controls for my skinable XNA GUI system, as well as clean up some code here and there.

Have not done hardly any work on this project or any of my other projects. :( I've just finished a six month subscription of world of warcraft and unfortunately it was a huge time suck. So now that I have not renews my wow subscription I am going to try to get some more work done on this project.

Sigh I wish I knew how to use tfsc better. I almost broke (IE: deleted O.o ) some of my zider projects. XNA 3.0 was released and I was taking the opportunity to reorganize and port my various xna projects from 2.0 to 3.0. I have also been removing the source control bindings from the projects. The reason is that I am the only one working on the projects and I never make check ins as often as I should. This combined with constantly requiring a internet connection for source control to work has made me decide to forgo source control all together and just stick with making periodic releases.

Additionally I have renewed my wow subscription and purchased the Wrath of the Lich king expansion so needless to say progress has been slowed as of late. So that's basically it, not much happening. I want to say that i have been thinking about making some videos that would show off what I am working on etc but, I know that I may also never get around to doing it. :(

Yep still working away on the Zider engine and related projects. The Zider solution has grown to 73 projects containing roughly 81000+ lines of code. Phewf! That's a lot of code for one person to write and maintain. Anyway I am back from picking mushrooms. I was deep in the BC wilderness for 7 weeks with no internet access =O and I have not done as much work as I would have liked to on the Zider engine because I am also in the process of rebuilding my website (http://www.createdbyx.com) and publishing the various projects in the new site. I have not uploaded the new site just yet I am still making various changes and additions. This project has not been abandoned it's just been slow going.

Still busy working away on the code but progress is a little slow :( Any way I am still very much focused on getting the infrastructure code fully fleshed out and working. I am considering doing a video blog on my progress but then I remember how much work it can be to edit and tweak the video. What makes it more difficult is that I am not a "talker". That is to say I may only speak a few sentences a week so trying to vocalize the topic points for the engine does not come naturally to me. That, and I cringe anytime I go back and watch a video I have posted on the internet, bleh! Lispy voice, code that does not run when I want it to etc. I also don't feel that the project is really functional enough to warrant a video blog, so I'll have to see how I feel in the coming weeks weather or not I am up to doing it.

Have made a few more edits to the code. If you want to keep up what what I changes were made subscribe to the source code page. That is where you can find most of the most up to date info. +60,000 lines of code and growing :P

Changes are a foot! I have recently started working on this project again. ( I can feel the wow addiction wearing off :P ) I have also found a very promising and interesting way to create maps for the engine! But I'll have more on that latter ...

===================================
The project is currently in the alpha/beta phase, but I have decided to start a CodePlex so that I could reserve the name and so people can download it and use it. I generally will try to release code that is in some kind of working state. So any download should be good to go, for the most part.

Also feel free to use the "Issue Tracker" feature and provide feed back about the zider engine. http://www.codeplex.com/ZiderEngine/WorkItem/List.aspx

You can find more detailed and up to date information at the Created by: X website here
