New Post: Bulk change username

Hi all,

Is there any way I can use this tool to change many usernames? I can get a CSV-file with current and new usernames to get the required information, but I would like to automate the change...

Any ideas are welcome...

Is it possible to import groups/users, exchange addresses with all there permissions form Windows Server 2003 into Windows Server 2008?

Hey,

i've nearly the same problem.
I would like to update a path like you, only with firstname.lastname.jpg. For this you can use for example %'sAMAccountName'%.jpg.
It errors out, too. I've tested a few times and find out, that the slash is the problem. If I don't have a slash in this attribute it works without an error.

Does anyone have a solution?

Looking into a single user rights to all the mailboxes but i get the error below

Unable to cast COM object of type 'System.__ComObject' to interface type 'CDOEXM.IExchangeMailbox'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{25150F51-5734-11D2-A593-00C04F990D8A}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE)). Verify that this user has an accessible mailbox

Mkay, I am a doofus. I see the cmd line version in the folder now, looking at the help file. I am not seeing a a way to update DN, am I missing it?

I understand how ADModify.net works (from the GUI.) I need to make a change to over 400 users, out of 10,000+. In an AD with well over 100 OU's. Can ADmodify be scripted, or run from a command line so I do not need to select all of the users one at a time?

Hey Chris,

Isn't a space represented by %20 ? So yours might be %'Firstname'%%20%'sn'%...or some type of variant perhaps. I'm just taking a stab in the dark. I haven't tried it in my environment. Just throwing some crap at the wall...

CREATED ISSUE: adding home profiles

When adding a home profile manually a user home folder is automtically created in the home share.
When changing these settings with Admodify althought the correct info is put in the home profile box, no folder is created until I apply the changes individually.
Is there a way to have this done automatically?

I am hoping that someone can assist me with this...
I am trying to update extensionattribute2 in A.D. under the Exchange custom attributes to the following

http://servername/example/whatever/Firstname 'SPACE' Lastname.jpg

So, it would be a standard URL to different JPG's that are named users first name SPACE users last name dot JPG
I have tried to use the variable %'Firstname'% %'sn"% but it errors out. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes you are Correct, you need to be on the exchange server.

If I remember right when I was tooling around with ADM, I think you have to be on the exchange server for those tabs to work. Run ADM from one of the exchange servers.

I want to change all the account in one particular OU to ony recieve email from the system Administrator using Delivery Restrictions - only Recieve Email From Administrator.

Can this be done using ADmodify, if so how.

you could try something like:
(&(objectCategory=user)(memberOf=CN=the-group,OU=some-ou,DC=your,DC=domain))

the stuff after memberOf= is the full distinguishedName of the group you want to check for, you can find this if use adsiedit to browse for the group and then lookup the distinguishedName property.

i've had the same problem of how to find members in a group and this was the only way i could make that work, it might be a bit inefficient but it should work.
