I did not change anything from the original source, the consumerkey and secret are the same I used for the web samples which seemed to work great.

You must have a different key/secret for desktop applications (see: http://trac.hyves-api.nl/hyves-api/wiki/APIDesktopApplications).

I downloaded the Bee.Net project & with it the samples.

So I created a solution in which FrameWork, frameWorkDesktop and friendlist are included.
Friendlist has references to the other two projects framework and frameworkDesktop.

The problem arises when it tries to get a requestToken from Hyves.
It receives a 400 (bad request) from hyves.

The web project examples work great! .. but I NEED the desktop application sample to work ;)

in hyvesLoginForm.cs I get the error after executing the line:
_createRequestTokenAsyncResult = _request.BeginCreateRequestToken(HyvesExpirationType.Infinite, OnCreateRequestTokenCallback, null);

I did not change anything from the original source, the consumerkey and secret are the same I used for the web samples which seemed to work great.

Hi Arian. First of my compliments for the great work on this lib. It really looks very good.

I have some questions related to the remarks above. I you save the UserID, Token and Tokensecret, then:

1) based on what information/key would you store and retrieve that data later? I assume the UserID, gotten from an unauthorized call to users.getByUserName. Where username is either taken from the current URL (username.hyves.nl) or the var globalmemberusername. I wonder if in your opinion that is the right method.

2) how can you determine if the retrieved Token and SecretToken are still valid. or how do you know they are invalid, because they have been revoked, without making use of listeners?

Sometimes, the session is null and it's redirecting again, retrieved from the last response (raw response on the onload event).

So the problem do not happens if you open the page directly from the address bar but if you open it from a link(in particular from our website, it makes the problem) is it possible that the problem comes from javascript code of the site?, i open a new window when the link is clicked. i made a static html page without javascript and the problem doesn't happen (works fine))

Bee.net uses a session variable to temporary store the requesttoken. From what I can see, the HyvesApplication can't access that session variable.

You can use the Session property to get the last response (including the rawresponse), this can help while debugging.

I'm currently developing an hyves application that adds a gadget automatically to the hyver profile page

when i open the page directly from the browser, everything works perfect.

but when i open it from another page of our website (my.wauw.fm) hyves seem not to recognize the token. and sometimes i have a parameternullreference exception in hyvesnetdll.

Jeroen,

If you want to save the acquired UserID, Token and TokenSecret you need another storage provider then the session. So use a database or xml-file instead.

(You can also have a look at the examples, they use the same principle.)

Added the code above to my default.aspx. My scenario:

- I start my web application within Visual Studio.
- After Session_Start in global.asax the 'hyvesApplication_SessionCreating' gets called. Session["Token"] is null.
- My web application redirects to hyves.nl to request access authorization, I accept and hyves.nl redirects to my web application
- Method 'hyvesApplication_SessionCreating' gets called again. Session["Token"] is still null.
- Method 'Page_Load' gets called. Session["Token"] gets a valid value. My Default.aspx loads correctly.
- I stop my web application within Visual Studio. Session gets lost!
- I restart my web application within Visual Studio.
- Again my web application redirects to hyves.nl to request access authorization! As a developer (and as an end user) I really don't want this to happen. What am I missing? Some configuration settings maybe?

Hi Jeroen,

Add the following eventhandler to the application: OnSessionCreating="hyvesApplication_SessionCreating"

Example:

Hi,

Every time a start my web application with the hyvesapplication control within Visual Studio it is requesting access authorization at the hyves.nl site. How can I as a developer authorize this only once and not every time I start and debug my website?
