Problem with BIDS 1.3.0.8 (SQL 2005) and VSS

Description

If I try to check in a SSIS project after I have deleted or renamed a package I get the following error "There was an error generating the XML document" and I am not be able to save the project.
After uninstalling BIDS Helper no error occurs. If I reinstall the BIDS Helper again the same error occurs. The error occurs only if I wish to check in the project node.

I believe we've fixed this problem in the source code. It was caused by the Deploy SSIS Packages feature. (So disabling that feature will workaround the problem in release 1.3.0.8.) The custom pane in the properties window wasn't always getting cleaned up correctly and was preventing the project from saving. I believe we've corrected that now.

If you want to download the latest source code and compile yourself, let us know if it fixes it. Otherwise, the fix will be in the next release after 1.3.0.8

I built 44937 (SQL2008) and the problem went away... Thanks!

I have also been encountering this error when adding DTSX files and miscellaneous files to a project. The work around I have found is to open the existing .dtroj file in notepad (whilst it is check-out), manually adding the necessary entries to the file and then saving it. When you switch your focus back to BIDS it recognises the file has been edited outside the studio and prompts you to reload the new version.

I'm having the same problem when I use the sort command i vs 2005 for SSIS. I did an undo checkut and that fixed the problem... but the files was not sorted

I’ve got same problem. Seem BIDS helper corrupts “.dtproj” file. Uninstalling BIDS helper solves issue with VSS. SSRS and SSAS projects work fine with VSS. Only SSIS project type is problematic

I have been seeing this same error, but when I have added a "miscellaneous" (non-DTSX) file to the SSIS project.

I am getting the same thing. I have VSS 2005 installed with Visual Studio 2005. No other add-ins installed. Worked fine w/ the previous version. Just updated to 1.3.0.8.

It happens when it tries to generate the SSIS_Project_File".dtproj". All other files seem to save correctly. Tried creating a new SSIS project to see if the files had somehow gotten corrupt. That wasnt the issue. I uninstalled BIDS Helper and it is working again. I havent done much more troubleshooting.
