Problem Definition
When was the last time you needed software or online service for solving a specific task?
Have you successfully found one that meets your needs and requirements? The good news is that
there are thousands of programs and online sites to choose from. The bad news is that there are thousands of programs and online sites
to choose from.
Today’s software and online services market is full and the total amount of solutions still continues to grow up making it hard for new users to find exactly what they need.
What is it?
Classifier is a service that helps users to categorize applications on their computers and web sites they use. Classification is based on tagging by users. You can tag your applications and services making
set-based structure that is simpler to understand than standard hierarchical (e.g. folder-based “start menu” or favorites folder) organization model.
If you are new to a type of software/service needed or want to
try some new applications and sites, you can easily search for them by tags and similarity, read other users’ recommendations, reviews and ratings.
Packaging
Classifier will be available as Windows client and web site, both allowing users to perform search, tagging and other activities.
See the
System Requirments and
Installation Instructions for installing or working with the Classifier Project.
