The vision of this system is to allow blogging engines to syndicate source code into RSS feeds using the Microsoft Code Snippet format. It consists of five different components:
- A library for creating and manipulating Code Snippets
- An add-in for Windows Live Writer that formats Code Snippets for posting
- An add-in for Community Server that allows for posting & saving RSS feeds, and syndicating the Snippets in an RSS extension
- An add-in for Visual Studio 2005 to associate feeds from the Windows Common Feed Store as Snippet Feeds, and manage copying Snippets to the proper VS2005 folders
- A website for centrally-managing community-uploaded Snippets
