Does CRM Analytics install directly on to PerformancePoint without further customisation? If not:
- what needs to be done to get it working?
- is a PPS update of CRM Analytics on the roadmap?

Hello,

This project is nice, it should give me a good jump start on my own BI solution and for that thanks! I do have one question so far. I decided to use our own CRM database and ran into an error because there is a scalar UDF ResourceGroupId that is defined within the Adventure Work Database. My question is basically how much customization was done to the source database?

If I wanted to deploy my BI solution to a customer and I had to create custom objects in their CRM database, well that sort of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Of course I am new to CRM and this might be the norm. Thanks for any advice or input!

CREATED ISSUE: Installation CRM after redeployment

Hi,
I'm trying Microsoft Dynamics CRM Analytics Foundation. I can restore the database ok, also run the redeployment without any problem but when i want install the CRM with connecting to the existing database option, the instalation wizard throw the following error: "The existing database are not compatible with this installation of Microsoft CRM"

Can anyone provide some guidance on these?

Am using the Deployment Guide for Analytics and have received error build messages when executing .sln files for sections 5.22 step 6 and 5.24 step 3.

Also, completed option 1 of section 5.26. Now CRM is broken. I cannot open CRM with Internet Explorer.

I'm deploying Analytics on my laptop with a virtual PC image.

Can anyone provide some guidance on these items?

CREATED ISSUE: Reports in CRM

Hi there,

None of the reports are working in the CRM Opportunity, leads or any of the other components. It seems to be a permissions issue as well as not initialising components properly. I have followed the instructions and set the permissions as required. I am also able to run the reports by going straight to the reportserver.
Anyone have any idea as to how to get around this?

Both solutions were required when I tried it. I had to manually map across all of the users AND I had to switch the revision number on the database (from 0 to 1232).

I am currently running my crm 3.0 installation on sql server 2000.
My guess is that the analytics add on will be running off of data in the crm database. And as such should both the add and crm need to be running off the same sql server??? Would this be correct?

CREATED ISSUE: deploying on Japanese environment

The following problems occurred while deploying Analytics Foundation on a Japanese environment (WinSv2003 and SQL2005 EE). 1. When the cube is deployed on a SQL Server(Japanese), the KPI report cannot be seen. (It is possible to see in ExcelCubeBrowser or Supporting Report. ) As for KPI, is it necessary to rebuild on Business Scorecard Manager? 2. When the Japanese translation is put in DimmensionName and MeasureName of the cube, both Supporting Report and KPI data cannot be read. Are some revisions necessary?

I've been asked to test CRM Analytics Foundation and report on it.

On this website, I noticed that SQL Standard Edition was a requirement, but when reading the installation guide, this requirement was changed to SQL Enterprise Edition. I can't deploy the cube with the Standard Edition. Is there any way to get this project working with only SQL Standard Edition?

Hi There, - Is this product going be inclued in the next release ? - As of now what is needed to purchase. For example most of my customers will be running standard edition of crm with sbs, sharepoint service on the server, sql workgroup etc. This will be 75% of my customers. Can the sql server, sharepoint services on sbs quality to run this product ? if yes, what else is required to buy in addition on behalf of the client. The reason i ask is because if i show this product to the client they need to know what else they have a purchase to have a BI solution.. Awaiting your reply. Thanks. About Sql version mismatch...
I checked the Revision field in BuildVersion table in a database that was created by the CRM installer. It was 1232. I set the Revision field in the Adventure_Works_Cycle_MSCRM database to 1232 and I was able to continue the installation.
