What is Microsoft Dynamics CRM Analytics Foundation?

Microsoft Dynamics CRM Analytics Foundation is a business intelligence solution accelerator for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 customers and partners. With Analytics Foundation, executives can better track and manage business performance with dashboards and KPIs. Managers and employees can create reports quickly and make better decisions. Sales, marketing, and service employees can identify and act on new opportunities to grow revenue and improve business efficiency with predictive analytics.

Analytics Foundation includes an OLAP cube (UDM) built on the default Microsoft CRM 3.0 schema, dashboards for sales and service, and predictive analytics such as product recommendation, lead potential rating, marketing list generation, and more. Analytics Foundation leverages data management and analytics technologies from the Microsoft Business Intelligence suite of products including SQL Server 2005, SharePoint, Business Scorecard Manager, Excel, and PerformancePoint Server 2007 (when available).

The excel browsers in the download were for an earlier version of Excel 2007 beta2 and does not work in the released Excel 2007.

Works fine for me in RTM Excel 2007. You can also create your own Excel browsers - just point the pivot table at the UDM data source and choose the UDM perspective you want for the spreadsheet.

Thanks for all the effort put into this delivery. Most all are working except the following data mining models: opportunity closure probability, product basket and expected time to cloase a case models.

Will this work with the upcoming MS CRM 4.0 (Titan) release, or will this functionality be included out of the box with Titan?

We are looking into making this part of the product in the future, but currently I do not have a schedule to share.

I've been asked to test this project, as my first task with MS CRM. I have problems setting this project up, I get the following error when deploying: the feature 'perspectives' is not available in the standard edition. I guess I need the enterprise edition, however, I found on this site that Standard Edition (or above) was needed. Is there a way to get it to work with SQL Standard Edition? Can anyone provide me a more comprehensive setup guide? It's a bit confusing for a newcomer like myself. Thank you!
