Summary

These tools are intended to be used by anyone, but especially by technical writers and editors, to produce documentation in Word 2007 and for the individuals who will be converting the content to HTML, CHM (Help 1.0), or HxS (Help 2.0). Using the p&p Content ribbon bar, you will:

1. Attach the template.
2. Create topics.
3. Add and format your content.
4. Manage your table of contents.

Getting Started

To install the patterns & practices Content Template

1. Close Word.
2. Install the pre-requisites.
3. Download and run the ppContentSetup.msi

To attach the patterns & practices Template

1. Open a new document in Word. You should see the p&p Content ribbon bar.
2. Click the Attach Template button to enable the ribbon bar.
