This is a really great project and was wondering what kind of status its currently in? Is there any plans to make a release?

Project Description
The Enhanced BDC Field Project provides a custom SharePoint Field that allows the use of a BDC Column at the Site Column Level, which is not currently possible in out of the box SharePoint.
