New Post: How to connect to the local online store?

I am still hopeful of getting some support in making the online client work for me.

I don't want to install the thick client in all the machines of the entire team. I shall like them to visit the online client and get the knowledge.

Thanks to the GE team for such a nice tool. I am trying to implement my own online store for our entire team.

Here is what I have done:
1. I have set up the online store along with the SQL database.
2. I have set up the GE online for the readers of the library.

These are working fine.

Now I am trying to use the GE off line tool to connect to this Online Store so that I can add more libraries and publish it back to the local online store.

I am not being able to connect to the local online store from the off line explorer.

Please HELP ME.

The online edition does not work. I wanted it to synchronise from the GE Online Store. But it does not. There is not enough documentation to make it work with a file share.

Please either put documentation to let other update the code, so that it can sync with the Store or provide documentation to make it work with a file share.

I am trying to set up the Guidance Explorer online client to work with the Online store and not getting enough time to understand how it is designed to work. There is no documentation either. I shall like to know if anybody tried the same and done it so. I want my teams to share the guidance library from the online client as I don't want everybody to use the smart client solution as it takes up more administrative requirements and include hassles for management.

Here is what I have done:
1. I have set up the online store along with the SQL database.
2. I have set up the GE offline client to work with this library.

These are working fine. But the bad news is that the online client is showing an entirely different set of guidance items. It has a set of guidance for its own, and I could not make it connect to the same GE store. Can somebody help me? I updated the following entries in the web.config for the online client:

<setting name="GuidanceExplorer_OnlineGuidance_OnlineStorage" serializeAs="String">
<value>http://localhost/GEStore/OnlineStorage.asmx</value>

I want the online client to talk to the GE store. And if it is not possible as of now, I want it to work with a UNC share at least.

Please HELP ME.

Consider: Move “Explained” to the core set of item types, then have a “more” option – which will lead into the item types which we have deprecated.

Make sure to save the removed types as an importable library
