Hi

Is there any documentation on the methods etc?

I am trying to retrieve some other information like Directors, and Language and it does not seem to be working.

Hi, sorry for the late response.

I've included two sample projects (One in VB, One in C#) in the latest release. If you want the functionality of ImdbServices in your project, you need to add a reference to it.

I am trying to use IMDBServices.dll in my visual basic 2005 program. I'm not sure were to begin however. Normally with .dll files in VB, I would normally declare a function to retrieve the variable. ie.

Declare Function hidConnect Lib "mcHID.dll" Alias "Connect" (ByVal pHostWin As Integer) As Boolean

How would I intergrate your .dll in my program so I can use it to retrive IMDB info?

Is there a "How to" guide or help document for your dll?

Thanks for your reply. I worked it out. I added to syncronous calls to the assembly. They do the exact same as the GetMovieInfoAsyn and SearchMovieAsync, but they are syncronous and don't use a background worker thread. Thanks

For now is not posible to send multiple search request at one time. I'm considering your suggestion, and I will implement as soon I can. I'm totally busy at work.

First of all this is great work. I am able to use it to look up one item at a time but what I am trying to do is loop through all the files in a folder and look up each movie. My app makes the call to the SearchMovieAsync for each file but only the first one gets returned. Is there a way to send multiple search requests and have them al lreturned??

CREATED ISSUE: Search on film title containing special characters

Hi,

Currently, the service can't get any matches on film title containing latin or estern-european characters or any others like é, è, ç, à, ...
because the HttpUtility.UrlEncode method, without other parameters but the string to encode, uses the default ANSI code page in the operating system's regional and language settings.

So when creating the url, I suggest you use the encoding Imdb uses i.e.
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">

url = String.Concat("http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=",
HttpUtility.UrlEncode(filmTitle, System.Text.Encoding.GetEncoding("ISO-8859-1")));
