Project Description
A small collection of utilities for use with Microsoft Content Management Server 2002.

These tools are all .NET 1.1 Windows Forms applications and, with the exception of the Template Manager, are single-file applications with no dependencies beyond the .NET framework and Content Management Server itself. The Template Manager requires additional runtime files from the MCMS developer tools setup option.

The tools are intended for use by application developers working on a local Content Management Server. Access is granted via the "AuthenticateAsCurrentUser" method and assumes you have administrator access; no testing against limited privilege accounts has been performed. The tools have no remote connection capabilities; if you wish to use them on a remote server copy the files to the machine and run them via a remote desktop connection.

The tools may be downloaded free of charge but are provided 'as-is' with no guarantee of fitness for purpose of any kind at all. Use entirely at your own risk.
This is useful for managing template definitions in situations where you don't have (or want) Visual Studio installed or don't want to wait for it to start up when all you need to do is take a quick look at a template definition.

The Template Manager requires the following Content Management Server files:

DeveloperTools.xml
DeveloperTools.xsd
Microsoft.ContentManagement.DeveloperTools.ToolControls.dll
Microsoft.ContentManagement.DeveloperTools.ToolsModel.dll

These should be copied to the same folder as the Template Manager executable. If you have installed the MCMS Developer Tools option simple run the batch file included in the download to copy them into place. If not they can be copied manually from the MCMS installation media (look in "\Msi\PFiles\MCMS\DevTools").

In use the Template Manager is identical to the Visual Studio MCMS Template Explorer.

UPDATED WIKI: Home
