i think this is very useful feature.
it would add a lot of information to a class diagram and save a lot of time for developers who now have to search external files for additional documentation on how stuff works, who is calling who etc.
is it possible to include a change like this into service pack?
Is it possible, to extend powertoys that it can design the <<uses>> relation of the UML 2.0 standard?. The <<uses>> - relation / association is only for documentation like the existing comment - box. There will be no code generation. I tried to define a add-in for this special task but nothing worked! So my last hope is perhaps there will be a chance to get the desired functionality in extending the powertoys.
Thanks for any help, tips, ideas... !
Dave
Currently there is no easy way to implement this funtionality. In order to support the "uses" relationship, we need to add another type that behavior same as the "Association" relationship. This requirement can only be done inside visual studio's codebase because class designer have not published its API.

For class designer's AddIn(http://www.codexplex.com/modeling), it can augment classdesigner's features by aggreating existing features but cannot add a new type.

We will consider to implement this requirement in future release of visual studio.

Thanks
Hi,

It would be helpful if this relationship can be shown visually, however it's also hard to track and maintain this relationship.
C# has auto-implemented property support, and VB is planning to support this too. Hi -

Is there a way / would it be possible to add uses=style relationship lines to the class designer? So, for instance, when I have a factory method that creates instances of another class, I could show this relationship visually?
Hi!

I followed the yeqing07's steps and did the manual configuration to make PowerToys work on Visual Studio 2008, changing version from 8.0 yo 9.0 in .addin files.
Now it appears in Tools > Add-in manager... and the commands "Filter Members", "Filter Lines" and "Filter Appeareace" appears disabled in "Class Diagram" menu. All others "PowerToys for the Class Designer" commands do not apear in menus. Also "Pan & Zoom" and "Documentation" windows don't appear in Views > Others Windows menu.

Anybody can help me?

Thanks.
