NetFlix API

New Post: Is this working?

It is great to see an attempt so quick of the API being released, but is the project posted here working for anyone?

I just downloaded the source folder and tried opening the files in Visual Studio and on trying to build it, I see a lot of errors (~39).

Did anyone have a similar or possibily a more positive experience? Any directions to make this work will be sincerely appreciated.

CREATED ISSUE: NetFlixSession.FindMovies throws exception on add

Dictionary.Add will throw an exception if a duplicate key is added (Example: FindMovies("Transformer")). Try:

movies[Convert.ToInt64 (movie.Groups["movieID"].Value)] = new Movie (Convert.ToInt64 (movie.Groups["movieID"].Value), movie.Groups["title"].Value);

CREATED ISSUE: Non-user related queries should be static

Certain queries, those not pertaining to a specific user, should be made static, so they are available even though a user has not been logged in. For example, simply browsing for a newly released movie does not require you to be logged in. So you should be able to use something akin to NetflixSession.GetNewReleases().

Unfortunately, NetFlix has no formally published API or collection of web services, so the NetFlix API is a C# library that wraps HTTP GET and POST requests to the NetFlix site, allowing programs to view/change a user's rental queue, search for movies, and view movie details, among other things. Hopefully this will be useful to developers working on third-party NetFlix applications and (potentially) a Windows Media Center add-on.
