COMMENTED ISSUE: Visual Studio crashes when launched with system.nullreferenceexception

I installed the add-in for the first time, from the setup dated 17/8/2006 with the administrator account to "all users". Yet, the add-in only appeared in Visual Studio 2005 with the administrator account. Hoping to use it with user accounts, I copied Administrator\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Addins\OvernightPowerAddIns.addin to the same location wtih the user, but then I then Visual Studio crashes when being launched, with the following error:

P8 : 23 P9 : system.nullreferenceexception

What else do I need to do? I tried copying the entire "Visual My Documents\Visual Studio 2005" folder, but got the same error.

I looked at "Add-In Registration" at http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/19dax6cz(vs.80).aspx, but it didn't give me any more ideas.

Steps to reproduce this error:

Install add in on domain user account such as user1
Log out and log in as user2
Copy "My Documents" folder from user1 to user2, overwriting existing file structure
Launch Visual Studio 2005 and an error occurs, triggering a standard Windows error report with option to send to Microsoft.

In my case, we upgraded our domain server and my old profile (belonging to a different Windows domain) was no longer accessible. I copied my "My Documents" folder, including the "Visual Studio 2005" folder and this problem started occuring.

Workaround #1: Open the "My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Addins" folder and rename the file: "OvernightPowerAddIns.Addin" to "OvernightPowerAddIns.Addin.bak" - this prevents the add-in from loading when startign Visual Studio 2005

Workaround #2: Launch the setup.exe application of this project contained in the original file you downloaded from CodePlex and select the "Repair" option. This will repair the issue.

Hi, I have the Add-In installed and it appears to be working fine (no errors). However, all the generated folders (styles, scripts, html, art) are all empty. Could I have something configured incorrectly? Thx

User Forum: DLL list appears, but Create Documents button doesn't work

I've the Tools tab with the overnight menu working and it's 4 options. I can see dll list (refresh button works), but when I press the "Create Documents" button, the bottom progress bar doesn't change at all. (should be filled with green bars...) It stays stuck with Ready... Nothing happens :(. I've installed Htmlhelp (4.71.1015.0), htmlhelpj, Sandcastle.msi CTP November 2006, SandCastle (8.0.50727.42). Someone with same problem? CREATED ISSUE: Installer adds addin menuitems twice

Hi, I got everything to install correctly, and I don't see any errors in the output window. However, when I go to file system and check in the output directory it is empty. I tried creating both C# and VB.net Dll's with one class and one method each. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Thanks,

I guess you are using the august CTP, the used script in the project must be updated for that. Hoop to have some time uncomming weekend to fix that.

allready on the wish list, but im overloaded with 'real' projects at the moment (80+ hrs a week), so when someone with a bit free time would hook into sourcesafe and fix these things, it would be great :-)

Might I suggest to make this configurable? With many projects, I have a "sharedBin" directory I output all my DLL's to. Thanks & pretty great little software!
