Unfortunately, after building a few prototypes and putting them through group trials, it was determined the "Sudden Elimination" concept was too complex for the "average" player and so the whole thing was not viable as a board game.

The original boardgame design can be seen as HTML at [url:http://risip.com/boardgame.htm] (the html is a converted Word Document and is large (1.6mb). One of the most frustrating barriers I've found is implementing a dependable TIMER mechanism. The State-Machine, needed under the timers, is hard. Every time I think I have it working, I gotta add a new freaking state! And everything's gotta be FIXED cause I broke something. Obviously, I'm not doing it right. HELP?
In RiSiP, up to 6 PLAYERS PRESS KEYSTROKES SIMULTANEOUSLY. It's ripping fun, but it can also be challenging to some. SO ... RiSip will use sounds (like "ding", "poof", "dong") to cue players when it's their turn to do something. Remember, RiSiP can be played by 6 players all sitting at the SAME keyboard. I've built a UI which should make this fairly user friendly. But I need help building SOUNDS which can be played INSTANTLY and are easily recognizable to the human ear and are VERY SHORT in duration. HELP?
RiSiP needs a fairly powerful database installed on the client machine. We use the DB to store lots of stuff! So, we're gonna use SQL 2005 which means we need One-Touch-Deployment. I'm trying to understand One-Touch but I ain't having much progress.
Run your attack sequences against each other in AutoPlay mode or get other player's sequences from the internet and play against them. Test your best, then send only your BEST to do battle in the world.

AND ... RiSiP is so simple, 3rd graders can have an afternoon of screaming laughing FUN! HOW? Let the computer automatically build a strategy for them to play with. Then, in lightening quick rounds, play against your opponent's strategy and your opponent's mind.
I've been chasing this project for almost three years. First as a board game, now as a computer game. I'm relatively OK when it comes to code, I have 20+ years of Microsoft related code under my belt, starting at BasicA, C, C, C+ and finally 10+ years with C# and VB.NET. BUT I do not have the skill for the next two phases (1) Making it RUN dependably (grin) and of course (2) web-i-fying it to work across the internet. The later requires creation of BOTH ends of a webservice (beyond my skills and my desire to learn), plus a website. Then, making it run has become a lot more difficult than I first thought. Everything needs to happen inside a timer loop. Sometimes nested timer loops! My ability to create a reliable STATE-MACHINE to implement the timer states is another .... beyond my skills .... task.

Over the last 6 months, I've finally admitted, I need help.
