As an aspiring web designer, my favorite program at age eight, when I received my first computer, was Microsoft Paint. I began my official design practice at fourteen, picked up HTML and my first domain at sixteen, and designed for my first client at seventeen. I also helped to build and develop intelagamer.com. At that point, I acquired my first dedicated server from Interland. A site I designed earlier, tacticalzone.com, a community site for Delta Force, became my first sale to Playnet in 2002.
At eighteen, I took my grassroots web design to a higher level by creating a web design and hosting company for small businesses. I continued my work during a stint in the Air Force, maintaining my skills through a growing practice. I began professional work with Cincinnati Web Works and currently am employed by Ackerman McQueen located in Dallas, Texas.
My collection of programming skills has grown to include XHTML, CSS, PHP, Ruby on Rails, Python, ASP, ASP.NET, MySQL, SQL, Javascript and Ajax. I continue to build my repertoire with the most up-to-date languages. Equipment i use on a day to day basis is as follows; programming in PHP, JavaScript, CSS, or XHTML i use TextMate, for Ruby on Rails i use Aptana and finally for .NET or ASP classic i use Dreamweaver CS3. When designing i use the one and only Photoshop CS3, it’s a wonderful program to own! All this runs on my MacBook Pro with a 17 inch screen.
