About Me

I'm a young C# developer currently at college studying a HNC in Software Development. Ever since I was twelve years old I've dreamed of becoming a professional programmer.

Coding Experience

I've been developing in C# for just shy of a year now, and in that time I have developed intermediate, perhaps pushing advanced skills in the language. I have learned to deal with things such as functions, a variety of reference DLL's for purposes such as file compression/decompression, communicating with programs, file management, audio control and much more.

I have intermediate skills in design with HTML/CSS, creating project websites for college as well as starting to construct a website for hosting my code, published programs and information about them.

This year I will also begin to learn C++ at an advanced college level, transferring all skills learned to C# as well, so I'm pretty excited about that.

Core skills

I have rather good skills in English, as well as excelling at problem solving and planning. I can tackle most things head on and come out victorious - but obviously not everything can just be rattled into, and planning should normally be done as it provides an overall better project. I have experience in networking, which I count as a plus to my skills. I'm a really quick and eager learner, as well. With moderate experience in design and documentation, pseudocode and other similar methods I'm capable of working on small projects wherever I can.

Why am I on Codeplex?

I joined Codeplex in hopes of expanding my knowledge not just in C#, but as a software developer as a whole.

I've made some projects on my own that turned out rather well, but I began to struggle with getting ideas for new projects and decided that it was time to spread my wings and (fingers crossed!) join a project.

I'm interested in most program areas. Music/Media, networking/web, various tools, appliances, controls and out-of-the-box ideas are what get my attention the most. I'm not a game developer but I would like to design plug-ins for games, or programs that interface with games, or even just something to help gamers, but I am always willing to try out something new.

If you think I could be of any use to you, please don't hesitate to ask.

Best of luck in your project, Liam.
