When building even a small application, a foundation will be apparent in the end. Whether it’s a well-thought-out foundation or one that just happened, it will be there. This should not be a surprise to anyone, especially to those who writes code for a living. When building a larger enterprise application with lots of different moving parts, this foundation becomes a critical aspect of the entire effort. In both cases, large and small, allowing the foundation to just happen could be the worst decision you never made!
