Smart Search for SharePoint

Created Issue: Failure to add web part: error while establishing a connection to the server

When adding the smart search web part to my search results page, I get following error:

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

My database servers have all the option checked to allow remote connections (both TCP/IP and named pipes.

I have tried adding the Smart Search web part to two different Search Center sites and I recieve the following error message:

The "SmartSearch" Web Part appears to be causing a problem. Request for the permission of type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Security.SharePointPermission, Microsoft.SharePoint.Security, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' failed.

Web Parts Maintenance Page: If you have permission, you can use this page to temporarily close Web Parts or remove personal settings. For more information, contact your site administrator.
Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services.

Any idea on what could be causing this problem?

I got the same problem. Changed the namespace problem and deployed it. I see the weppart but nothing else.

Loaded up the web part, added it to my page. No errors or anything but the webpart isn't providing any information. How is this supposed to work?
