The elevation did not work for us when launching the setup from a &z self extracting archieve. I added a manifest, which resolved the problem.

Patch to display installed and new version numbers when solution already installed.

I used a new resource key, to avoid incorrectly hitting translated versions of the old string.

I only did the substitutions in InstallConfiguration.cs FormatString when they are actually needed.

Add more descriptive exception for case where expected solution ID not found -- that is, when user has wrong solution id in the config file.

Add two new options as described in the issue I posted.

Add reference to Microsoft.SharePoint.Search.dll with copy local=false, to fix problem that currently VS is copying that binary to the output directories.

Missing code on DeactivateFeatures()

the comments of KML where right, but correction is missing the code: "deactivatedSiteCollections.Add(siteCollection);"

This patch seperated the SharePoint Installer from its the backend. There is a new Project CodePlex.SharePointInstaller.Api which contains all the classes and functions needed to implement the SharePoint Installer into other systems.

In the near I am goiing to release an integration of SharePoint Installer for WiX. The new project (....Api) will be part of that if it is not going to be used here. Please contact me if you would like to merge it into SharePoint Installer or not.

The code is based upon checkin #17854 . This is no real patch but a full code dump - The changes are to many to create a safe patch for them.

The patch provides the ability to find a solution file in the executable's path.
