Hi natalie,

Let me check out your problem with password. I'll keep you up to date you.

About drag the sql table: sqlmetal osui doesn't allow you to use the drag option with the linq to sql designer. sqlmetal osui only generate files (dbml, code, ...) as well as sqlmetal.exe tool. Sqlmetal osui was made up because of the linq to sql designer of the vs.net doesn't support sdf databases.

Hello,

I an delighted when I heard of your tool but no joy now as its not working. I got an error msg when I installed the sql metal OSUI in Visual Studio 2008 Pro something like:"the password for the database is not the same/proper password" so I dont know what is going wrong... how can my password be wrong? My test connection of the sql compact .sdf database is working fine!

Furthermore now your tool I have installed and try to drag a sql table and drop it on the O/R Mapper designer and it doesnt work yet, why?

I know its not able to locate SQLMetal.exe. in my system its located in C:\Program Files\LINQ Preview\Bin\SqlMetal.exe I need to find out where do we set this path when using SQLMetal OUI in Visual Studio.

1- Open Visual Studio .NET 2008
2- Click on menu Tool and External tools…

3- Click Add. Select options as showed below.

4- Click OK.
5- Select SQL Metal OSUI link in Tools menu.

6- Once SQL Metal OSUI is executed, click on version number. It’ll appear the sqlmetal.exe version in Visual Studio’s Output panel as follows:

7- SQL Metal OSUI is configured.

How do I use?
First step: select SQL Server 3.5 Compact Edition Database

Second step: Select output file
