Hi there,

I am also having this problem. The account I use has the necessary permissions on AD, do you have to point Sushi to the AD server?

I too think this is a great tool, if this function was working for me it would be even better...

Just downloaded SUSHI, your app is awesome! I've looking for something like this for a while. I downloaded it mainly for the security reports and the bulk import. I've only used the reports so far and it is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I was trying to copy the results and put them into at least notepad or something so I could copy it to my computer to print. Doesn't appear the 'copy report' is working for me. Any thoughts?

First I would like to say THANK YOU for a wonderful tool, has helped me get thru a nasty security audit...

Now to the minor issue, when I run either of the security reports for a specific user, I receive the follow message in regards to AD groups.

Active Directory Groups:
Unable to find active directory groups for user: A referral was returned from the server.
(no Active Directory Groups)

the bulk site creation function creates only sitecollection right? i don't get any custom templates in the choice box, or maybe this is why we use a german moss installation?

What a GREAT tool!! Have been using it but now I have a error I've not seen before.

Backing up site works correctly, but when I try to restore, I get a quick "DOS" window, that says Access Denied, then closes quickly. Sushi validates the backup file fine, and it says it restored successfully. But I have restarted IIS, thinking it has to rebuild the .net cache, but no changes in site.

I am restoring back to WSS 3.0 running on Windows Server 2008.

HELP!!!

CREATED ISSUE: Issue with Backups

I tried Sushi on my WSS 3.0 site. It was able to back up two smaller subsites of my main wiki site (and rstore them to another server). But several attempts to back up the main site do not seem to work, even though the program appears to be going through all the content properly and indicates that the backup completed. In the folder where the backup files should exist are a few small files and one zero-length file called <servername>}<portnumber>.SUSHIBackup

SUSHI Feature - Site Backups

The backup feature in Sushi allows you to create manual or scheduled automatic backups of SharePoint. The SUSHI backup feature is simply a wrapper around the STSADM.exe -o export -url <sharepoint url> command. SUSHI gives you a way to easily build the commandline command without having to open up the console window. SUSHI also allows you to schedule regular backups that will run automatically.

To perform a backup:
1) Build the sites to backup list by adding urls from the master sharepoint url list
2) Choose a backup path where the backup files will be stored
3) Choose whether to backup only the top level site, or to backup all child sites underneath each of the selected sites
4) Validate backup (this will not run the backup, but it will show you the details of what will be backed up, run this to double check that you got everything right.
5) Press "start backup".

About Scheduled backups:
SUSHI uses the command line SCHTASKS command to create a windows scheduled task. But pressing the validate button under schedule backup, you can see the exact command that sushi will run, and if you prefer you can even cut and paste this and run the command yourself from the command line. The scheduled task will run SUSHI with a command line option which will kick off the backup.

To schedule a backup:
1) choose daily or weekly
2) press the validate button if you want to see the command that SUSHI will use to schedule the backup
3) press create scheduled backup to create the scheduled task

SUSHI only updates the picture hyperlink in the MOSS user profile. And it also uploads an image from disk into a document library that you specify.

We are in the process of implementing a facebook with Active Directory as our source. It possible to get the pictures in AD using the methods described at http://www.arricc.net/active-directory-photos-sharepoint.php in the jpegPhoto AD user attribute
unfortunately , the import of those picture datablobs does not work by the regular MOSS profile import.
I hoped SUSHI had a way to read those jpegPhoto blogs and push them into MOSS

* *Email Test tab added.*
Use the "Email Test" tab of SUSHI to test if outbound email is set up correctly. In SharePoint Central Administration you can specify an "Outbound SMTP server" which is used to generate emails for alerts, and notifications. In order for outbound email to successfully send, the SMTP server needs to allow anonymous relaying from the IP addresses of the web front end servers in your SharePoint Farm.

If email is set up correctly, SUSHI will display "Successfully sent test email to SMTP server." which means that the SMTP server recieved the email request and did not throw an error and you should shortly recieve an email. If email is set up incorrectly, you will see an error message and SUSHI will display in red the error message thrown. Unfortunately, SUSHI can't always tell you exactly why the SMTP server failed to send because it isn't possible to detect how your SMTP server is set up, but at least you know immediately that it failed, and you will know that it is a SMTP routing issue and not a SharePoint timer issue, or some other SharePoint problem.

When you press the "Send Test Email" button, SUSHI simply instantiates a MailMessage object and uses the System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient class to attempt to send an email. The subject of the email will be "Test Email from SharePoint SUSHI".

* *Bulk List creation.*
This feature is similar to Bulk Site creation, it allows you to create many lists at once based on a list template.

* *Profile Picture Import*
- Profile picture import feature improved so that the source folder is not readonly and you can conveniently copy and paste a directory path, including a UNC network path
- bug fix where when site collection ended in a forward slash, URL of image was being set with double forward slash, fo example: http://test2//testLibrary/dseese.jpg (thanks to user DSEESE for reporting this bug.)

* *The Splash screen was removed*
A couple people reported problems with the splash screen so it was removed. Stability and security are SUSHI's highest priorities.
