After three public preview releases, we're proud to announce the final version of Video.Show 1.0! This release includes further architectural changes to increase extensibility of Video.Show as a platform for user-generated content, improvements to the video uploading and processing logic, better status information indicating how the user's content is being processed through the encoding pipeline and better diagnostics around encoding and configuration. The download contains source code, a developer white paper, installation guidance and a browser for Software-plus-Services Blueprints guidance. You can enhance this aspect of the experience by downloading the
Software-plus-Services Blueprints Manager.
Video.Show requires Visual Studio 2008, Silverlight 1.0 or greater, Expression Encoder, and an active Internet connection. For more information on installation requirements, please refer to the guide included as part of the release below.
We welcome your feedback, bugs and submitted patches to improve Video.Show. In particular, if you are using Video.Show or were inspired by Video.Show to build a video sharing site, we would love to know about it! Please leave a post in the discussion forum.
