This new release includes improvements of the VSLab architecture and consolidation of the foundation. It also upgraded to May 2009 F# CTP.
If you need to use earlier releases of the language please refer to R. Daneel release. Documentation will be updated as soon as possible, for the moment refer to R. Daneel release.

Important: The first time you have to go to the VS addin manager and explicitly check the VSLab addin. VSLab is now loaded by Alt+Shift+V command and the add-in gets automatically loaded after the first run.

This release was planned to be later in the year but the F# September CTP 2008 required major updates in the inner working of VSLab. This release is the first for F# 1.9.6 and subsequent versions. Minor release: R2D2 version has been updated to include few minor issues.

This is a major release of VSLab, several bugs have been fixed and the notion of package has been introduced. Packages are simple .NET assemblies with few additional metadata to integrate with the package management of VSLab.

VERY IMPORTANT

This current release of VSLab is not compatible with F# CTP released in september due to the significant changes in the Visual Studio integration. We are currently working to upgrade VSLab to this new release (hope to be by the first week of September). If you want to try it please download F# 1.9.4.19 from Microsoft Research F# Web Site. We are very sorry for the inconvenient.
