Webcast demos

This page will allow you to download all the demos we use in our webcasts.

Slot Machine
This is the demo that was shown in the Introduction to dependency injection with Microsoft Enterprise Library Unity Application Block webcast. It's a simple console application used to demonstrate most of the features of the Unity container. Unfortunately the MSEvents system has lost the webcast recording and it cannot be retrieved.

There are six different copies of the project, starting with the base (no Unity use) and adding features as it goes. Requires VS 2008.

Extensibility Demos
This is the source code shown in the Extending the Unity Dependency Injection Container webcast. There's also an additional one (a PerThreadLifetimeManager) that wasn't discussed in the webcast. The PerThreadLifetimeManager is now a standard part of Unity 1.2.

Unfortunately the MSEvents system has also lost this recording and it cannot be retrieved either.

Requires Unity 1.1 and VS 2008.

Is the recording for "Extending the Unity Dependency Injection Container" webcast itself available?
The on-demand webacst link for this event seems to not work (https://msevents.microsoft.com/CUI/WebCastEventDetails.aspx?EventID=1032382565&EventCategory=5&culture=en-US&CountryCode=US&flag=1)...

The recordings usually take a few days to become available. Hopefully it should be available soon. We haven't gotten any messages saying it was eaten by weasels or something, so I have to assume the backend processing is just taking a while.

Sorry but the webcast is not yet available. I even contacted the support in the matter. The reply I got was "I am very sorry, but it appears the webcast replay was not posted for download on this webcast." Do you have the material from that webcast or has it gone missing? Cheers, /Magnus

The extensibility webcast recording has apparently disappeared into the ether. We're chasing down what's going on, but it doesn't look good. We've still got the deck; worst comes to worst we'll post it and see what else we can do. I'm still hoping a hard drive slipped behind the file cabinet or something.

but trying to load it on the livemeeting site fails:

Please STOP using the microsoft on demand web cast web site to publish demo's the interface is clunkly more often than not does not work and generally when I get pointed to a page like this at this point I will NOT CONTINUE!!

The webcast is officially irretrievable. We're never going to use the MS live webcast system again.
