Unable to checkout code "unauthorized operation"

I am unable to checkout any project's code using the codeplex client or TFS. It asks for my credentials, which I enter, and then it says "error: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation." ...

CPC and TFC do not allow access to TFS 2010 servers.

The clients are saying that checkout operations are unauthorized when the correct username and password are given.
